Fit-to-work certificate

As confirmation that you are fit to carry out your role, or that you have recovered from a sickness or health condition that has affected your ability to work, your employer may require a fit-to-work certificate to support your safe return to the workplace.

Our doctors can provide you with a same-day medical certificate that will confirm that you are fit to work. If returning after an illness or health condition, the certificate will also confirm whether you are fully or partially recovered, with recommendations for your safe or gradual return where applicable. No appointment is needed – simply apply online.

What will I receive?

You will receive a verifiable digital PDF letter signed by a medical professional and sent directly to your mobile, containing the following details:

Your name, date of birth and workplace.

A statement confirming that you are fit to work.

Signature and authorisation by one of our GMC-registered UK doctors.

Contact details of ZoomDoc Health with a QR code enabling a verification check.

Important – our fit-to-work certificate

Our innovative online service to provide fit-to-work certificates can only be provided for workplace roles that are deemed low risk. A role with increased potential dangers will require a face-to-face assessment with a medical practitioner to check your heart, lungs and blood pressure, and to arrange eye and visual checks.

Some of the roles for which we cannot provide fit-to-work notes include:

Any driving roles

Motorsports drivers

HGV and bus drivers

Taxi drivers, forklift drivers and ambulance drivers

Crane operators

Working at heights and scaffolding

Please note: ZoomDoc Health is a private UK doctor service – the medical certificates we provide are not the same as NHS Med3 Fit Notes, which are only available from healthcare professionals delivering NHS services.

Our fit-to-work note expires 90 days after the date of issue.
